A quick shoot in the street. She always asks me to practice on her. So, I tell her sure. Okay, in my mind I would like it if she did say, “hey mom, practice on me!”. But, this has never happened. I have the manual focusing model, so I’m always trying to work on getting focus while shooting kids. That’s a serious skill that I’m still trying to work on.

ha! she is one awesome model…love her expressions!! I’m finally breaking down and getting a focusing screen for my contax. I bought a mamiya 645 af recently and it does make a huge difference (the autofocus)…if you’re thinking of upgrading let me know, because I think I’m gonna stick with 35mm for my black and whites (which I bought the mamiya for…). Love these though!!

Celeste, your daughter has SO much personality and you capture it so well. I love looking at your images of her. It’s challenging to manually focus but such a good way to train your eye and slow down… you could say the same thing about film, yes? Love these, sweetie. Awesome work!
